Computer getting hot all the time

My laptop was getting well hot over the last few days with the fan constantly on, the puter has been really slow as well. Ive taken it apart today only to find that the air vent was blocked up with fluff, Ive taken it apart and cleaned it out put let it cool down and put it all back together, its now not as hot as it was but the fan is always on and it still gets a bit hotter than I remember it or is it just me. GRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr hate it when things go wrong, anyway the puter speed is back to normal ,everything must have just been getting to hot. but its warming up plenty. Any ideas, or am I now paranoid about the heat.

Just updated Avast before scanning my computer and..............


3 infected files already, my own fault for not keeping on top of it, didn't have avast set up right and everytime I switch the puter on and it auto starts a scan Ive been stopping it as it slows everything down must get back into a habit of setting it away when I'm not using it.

try this AVG 2013 or Microsoft Security Essential i been using this since 2008 a must have software and free updates as well....about the heating issue might be need more ventilation have you tried one of those laptop cooler thinggy?

I haven't no, had the thing in a shop as it totally crashed, I got a new puter now but the old one is still in use dual booted with vista and Ubuntu. The guy said their was nothing wrong with the fan issue recommending that I don't use it on my lap without a board of some sorts.

Microsoft security essentials is an awesome piece of kit

they shouldn't called it a laptop if they dont like to be use on laptop.... ....we one before knackered the motherboard because of overheating...now im using a PC atleast it can run all day without complain...
