As a few of you guys know we have been having lots of problems with interference getting into the radio at the club. Well we are now happy to announce that this has been resolved and the guys were blasting out all over the world last night. The club has a full size G5RV up on the roof and the radio is now in full swing. This had been a bit of a set back for the club and as you know there is always teething problems when starting something new, it was tracked down to lighting within the clubs room. Next week Ill be taking the camera to get some video shots of the radio in action.

Embarassed Sorry I forgot the camera tonight after leaving home in a hurry lol, but a few great contacts were made tonight on Barry's radio. Its cracking out now so well done you guys for sorting that out. Had a great bit of banter and what a laugh along the way tonight, great to meet up with you lot again.

Ill be putting together a 2metre dipole for the club as soon as the parts come, Ive just sent away tonight for them, or better still Ill just take the parts to the club and we will put it together there to show some of the younger members how they work, make it a little project for them, so anyone else interested in how to make a small stealth 2 metre antenna dipole which is brilliant in the wind and should never have any problems from the weather, why not pop along. If your interested in a homebase 2metre antenna the project cost is £15 upto now and you can put it together at the club, Ill bring my antenna analyzer along to help you get it tuned in.

Hoping to have a few more antenna projects put together soon.

The centre piece is here and Ive picked up the rest from Birtley CB services this morning so we can let the kids put it together and gave them a bit of knowledge about antennas for there exam SWR etc, the fun way to learn is always the best way I say and the hands on experience will help the knowledge sink in a bit better.
