Well the first weekend during daylight hours when there's been any decent prop, and just about every band is clogged up with contest stations. I appreciate contesting may be an exciting event for some, but for others like me, it is the only area of amateur radio that I dislike.
Contesting would be ok if it was only limited to one or two bands, but when nearly every band is taken up with it apart from WARC bands (I have heard the odd contester on 17 as well), it is hard lines on those who look forward to the weekend and a 'normal' QSO.
When I switch the radio on and hear 'CQ contest', I immediately switch off.
Hight time something was done about contest band limitations mefinks.......... Rant NOT over yet!!!
