Not done much DX'ing lately so armed my car with the Atom 40 metre mobile antenna, got some cracking contacts, especialy early hours on my way home up the coast road, I pulled over to the side and joined in a net, Trinidad, Carolina, Florida, New York , I was working them all on 40 watts brilliant, they work the same frequency nearly every morning they told me. Also had some great contacts from all over the UK early in the evening, Somerset, Wales, Scotland, London just to name a few, never got any call signs wrote down due to driving and due to my failing memory cant even remember them lol, but I have wrote down that last net frequency.
So gonna work 40 metres all weekend, I think its my favourite band although a bit noisy its going all night and you get DX as well as local contacts. Might video a couple of good ones tonight.

Well here we go, I was nervous as hell making a video lol, whats all that about its not as if I had lots of camera crew with me hahaha. I got myself all muddled up
I videod this one because the guy was operating from a sub, we think it was just a sub docked of the coast of France and the guy was from a radio club and doing a special event station. Anyway Ill get better and going to start posting on youtube again.

Its pretty easy now John, you can record a video using a normal digitsal camera, open it up with windows live movie maker and add titles etc or not even bother with that bit if you dont want too, but if yo do there is a button that says youtube, click on that open a youtube account and its pretty much self explantary from there. Or just create a youtube account and then you will see a button called upload video again its pretty easy to follow the instructions

Its up and down to be honest mate. I was on my way home last night and someone was dxing on mid band fm I shouted back and parked up and had a right good chinwag with a guy in Germany this was about 2am. I dont find I get much chat on amateur bands its all 9/5 73's. Although I find 40metres good for networks and a bit chat.
I can honestly say if the 11metres had night time propogation more often a bit like 40metres I dont think I would have bothered, its night time dxing that interests me when Im on shift. I really hope they legalise 11 metres ssb in the UK
